Updated: 9 hours ago

Hello everyone,

I'm Carla Schoonover-Porter, co-founder of The 134 PAC and County Services Director. I am thrilled to share some exciting news about our upcoming Rural Texas Coalition Building Summit, organized in collaboration with the Coalition of Democratic Allies (CODA). This event is a testament to our shared commitment to working together to strengthen Rural Texas!

Event Details

Mark your calendars for Friday, June 13th, and Saturday, June 14th, 2025. We will gather at the Bastrop Convention Center in Bastrop, Texas, to kick off this important initiative.

This summit is not just an event; it's a movement towards a stronger, more resilient Rural Texas.

Who We Are

The 134 PAC has always been dedicated to advocating for the needs of rural Texas Democrats. We connect and educate organizers, activists, candidates about the unique challenges faced by rural communities. Our mission is to foster partnerships and provide resources that empower and strengthen our party across the state.

The Coalition of Democratic Allies (CODA) is a dynamic group based in Bastrop, Texas, dedicated to fostering inclusiveness and activism among Democrats in the region. CODA works to support and promote Democratic values and initiatives. They organize events, fundraisers, and community activities to engage and mobilize local Democrats.

Our Mission

At the heart of this summit is our mission to unite diverse organizations and individuals to address the pressing issues facing Rural Texas. We aim to establish strategic regional hubs, build a robust network of supporters, and create a framework for ongoing collaboration and resource sharing. By doing so, we hope to empower rural communities and create lasting positive change.

Key Objectives

  1. Strategic Regional Hubs: We plan to create regional hubs across Texas to better assist with rural issues. These hubs will serve as focal points for organizing efforts and resource distribution.

  2. Network Expansion: Expanding our network of supporters and volunteers is crucial. We need more hands-on deck to tackle the challenges ahead.

  3. Coalition Building: By creating appropriate coalitions of groups, we can facilitate the work of all involved. Collaboration is key to our success.

  4. Framework for Collaboration: Developing a framework for ongoing collaboration and resource sharing will ensure that our efforts are sustainable and impactful.
