Defendants Countersue The 134 PAC In Voter Intimidation Lawsuit

The Defendants in The 134 PAC's lawsuit against voter intimidation lawsuit in Mineral Wells have counter-sued The 134 PAC, and Carla Schoonover, and have also sued The 134 PAC's co-founder and lawyer Jon Mark Hogg.

The Defendants Murphy and Johnson, representing themselves, allege that The 134 PAC's voter intimidation lawsuit is "bunkum and balderdash", "is meritless, even frivolous, and more importantly, brought for the improper purposes of political retaliation, threats and intimidation i.e., it is actually the Plaintiffs, and not the undersigned Defendants, who are in violation of the federal Voting Rights Act, as well as in violation of certain other related federal election law."

They also sue The 134 PAC, Carla Schoonover, their attorney Jon Mark Hogg, and Palo Pinto County for violation of their First Amendment rights, First Amendment Retaliation, Voter Intimidation, Violation of Equal Rights and Due Process, Conspiracy to Violate Civil Rights, Neglect to Prevent Violations of Civil Rights, Malicious Prosecution, Vexatious Litigation and Abuse of Process, libel and defamation, Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress, and Negligent Infliction of Emotional Distress.

The 134 PAC, Schoonover and Hogg have filed a Motion to Dismiss all of these counter and cross claims for lack of merit. The Court will set a trial date and enter a scheduling order in the next few weeks.

Thank you 134 PAC! I am sorry you're having to put up with such snakes. I am not wealthy but thought a small donation might be helpful, especially if y'all get several small donations. Keep up the good fight!

The work that The 134 PAC is doing is an example of what good citizens should be doing to stop hard-hearted people from shouting "fire!" in election movie theatres and thinking that doing so amounts to free speech. Good going friends!
