Glad that is out of the way

Okay. Glad that is over. National and statewide elections themselves have very little to do with building a Democratic Party for rural Texas. They just suck all the oxygen out of the room. Now is the time to start thinking about what we are going to do in 2023.

We have several invitations to speak with rural Democrats over the next few months and we will continue to share the PAC's message. We are going to continue our sustaining donor fundraising effort and saving as much money as we can to have for grants to county parties in 2024. We are looking at creating a seminar to teach rural county parties how to run their own primary and expand their presence in their community. We will also continue to assist and organize counties without a county chair.

Already the political class in Austin is calling for the Democratic Party to ignore rural Texas and focus only on urban Texas. We will continue to criticize this proven failed strategy and advocate for a party that works for all of Texas.

We will be meeting soon for a planning session for 2023. If you have suggestions on projects or other ideas to help build our rural party network, please send them our way.

I wonder if it would be good to champion voting by mail, emphasizing benefits to rural people. It's not strictly building the party, but maybe giving people a reason to like The134PAC.

Is there a rural, progressive podcast?

So much political discourse is via radio and YouTube.

May be an efficient way to reach rural folks and give them the attention they don’t get by the state or national party.
